Wedding bells for Narayana Murthy’s daughter



Akshata Murty, Infosys cofounder and chief mentor N R Narayana Murthy and Infosys Foundation chairperson Sudha Murty’s first-born, is all set to tie the knot. The lucky guy to have won her heart is an Indian classmate of hers from Stanford Business School. The wedding is expected to take place in Bangalore in August.

Akshata is currently a venture capitalist in cleantech space based in California. She’s a senior associate at Siderian Ventures, whose aim is to build entrepreneurial, cleantech-enabling businesses with a global perspective. Like all Siderian team members, she is currently employed by Tendris, a Dutch cleantech incubator fund with presence in Amsterdam and San Francisco. Akshata is a marketing director at Tendris.

Like her sibling Rohan—who is a Microsoft fellow doing a doctoral programme in computer science at Harvard University—Akshata schooled in Bangalore. She received her undergrad degree from Claremont McKenna in California and did her MBA from Stanford. She has worked with Deloitte and Unilever.

Akshata is one of India’s most eligible girls. She’s one of Infosys’ largest individual shareholders with a 1.41% stake. Her networth is currently around Rs 1,600 crore ($320-million). Akshata, who speaks four languages and describes herself as a global citizen, is passionate about exposing women globally to the opportunities that become available to them when they are empowered.
